FOSTER CARE INITIATIVE
There are approximately 3500 children in the foster care system in San Diego and sadly, 50% of foster families quit fostering after their first child placement because there is often no support for them during this fostering arrangement. When these arrangements fail, we fail these children who deserve to have a loving family and support system to nurture and love them.
When foster families have the support of a Care Community Group, 92% continue forward to foster again, providing more security and opportunities for these 3500 children to have a loving and nurturing home .
We believe God is calling Coastline Church to step into the lives of at-risk foster youth, and to support the families that care for them. Partnering with R225, Safe Families, Olive Crest and Promises2kids, we are joining a movement of compassion across San Diego and invite you to consider how God is calling you to this unique ministry to impact one child’s life at a time. If you enjoy encouraging others, utilizing administrative skills, and have a passion for those impacted within the foster community, we'd love to have you join our team! Join us for another Promises2kids Parking Party at the Coastline Café on Tuesday, February 27th at 7pm.
Come help us pack up 300 care packages with Promises2kids for foster kids that have aged out of the foster care system. These are college students that are working hard and haven't had the support of a family to help them. We want to bless them by providing a care package that will be delivered to them in February.
